Your skin will thank you

Activated charcoal is amazing! A single teaspoon of activated charcoal has a surface area of approximately 10, 000 square feet. It works by adsorbtion, not absorption, electrical attraction, pulling molecules, atoms and ions towards its surface and sticking to it, not becoming one with it. It will boost your beauty routine for skin by drawing oil, dirt and other harmful substances from clogged pores. Activated charcoal pulls out chemicals, bacteria and dirt. It’s extremely helpful in fight acne and giving you a beautiful complexion. These recipes are the best natural face masks. I love knowing I’m using products that are chemical-free and actually good for my skin!

Natural purifying recipes:

This first recipe is made mixing a capsule or ½ teaspoon of the powder depending on which you have into 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, Mix these together until you have an evenly paste-like consistency. Apply to your skin and then rinse off just before it’s completely dry, about 10 minutes. Then moisturize.

Another recipe is: 1 teaspoon bentonite clay (removes toxins and tightens the skin, DO NOT use metal bowl or utensils with clay)**, ½ tsp. activated charcoal, mixed with 1 tsp. water and 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar, 2 drops each of lavender essential oil (to help soothe) and tea tree oil (to help cleanse and heal) to my recipe for added benefits. Rinse off after about 10 minutes just before completely dry. Then moisturize. Your skin will feel amazingly soft and clean. An option to this recipe if you have extra sensitive skin would be only use water, no ACV, so you’d use 2 tsp. water instead.

**Since the bentonite clay starts adsorbing toxins as soon as it’s mixed with the other ingredients, DO NOT use metal bowl or utensils for mixing. It will adsorb the metal and you want it to adsorb as much of the impurities from your skin as possible. The best natural face masks - thewifeslife.com

Be aware: this can get messy so be careful. It doesn’t necessarily stain but you still wouldn’t want it on your clothes. If it does get on your clothes or counters or wherever you may get it, just wash as soon as you can.

  1. These are great ideas! I’ve also become a big fan of using just raw honey on my face since it’s so antimicrobial 🙂 I’ve tried other charcoal masks in the past but never made it myself! So I’ll have to try!

  2. As someone else mentioned, I have used active charcoal masks before (and LOVED it), but never made my own! I want to try this right now! I have all of the ingredients you mentioned except the active charcoal, so I am going to try this out this weekend!

  3. This is great! I’ve been wanting to get natural face masks but there are way too many to choose from. I totally want to make my own now!
